However, there are few of the best sites where you can always go with confidence as their name is the guarantee of satisfaction in all the services they provide. There are a lot of reasons for the sites to be the leader in the business; cost effectiveness is perhaps the best one.

First of all, you must consider the rates for the packages that you are looking for. You will come across a lot of sites with diverse rates. However, choose the one that makes a difference to you. Also, there are a lot of people who are of the view that there is only a forlorn hope to get a hosting plan that would be considered as economical. But, that certainly is not the case as you can find easily find a solution for all of your hosting needs, if, of course, you are ready to devote some time to search.

Also, some people would argue that if some companies are charging a low price, there must be some hidden charges that may crop up later. However, the big companies understand the thought and the speculations of all the customers; so, they make it sure that the customers get the best price which will remain constant through out the whole time. So, try to find one of them.

Secondly, the level of services is something that you must consider in finalizing your decision about a hosting company. You can check the views of other users to find out as which are the companies that are receiving appreciation for their level of service? The thing that you must check in this regard is that there server should never be tripped because of overload. It would be a testimonial that they care about the quality of services.

You must also be able to find the hosting plans with clear view and features as this will help you to decide about the package that you want to go with. You must endeavor to find a company for whom their clear priority is efficiency and not the money. Another important point that you can consider is that the company must have an option for you to get back your money if you think that their services are below par.

The quality and the name that most of the big companies have earned is something that they have done after years of experience and efforts, so, you can always start from one of those companies.

Every business owner, including a Virtual Assistant needs to use a newsletter to keep in touch with their current clients and to develop a relationship with potential clients.

To develop your mailing list you’ll need a quality autoresponder service like Aweber or perhaps you’ll choose an all inclusive ecommerce system like WAHM Cart. Both of these services give you the ability to manage multiple mailing lists. You can run a main list for your website and add a second list for customers only.

Place an opt in for your newsletter on every page of your website and also create a page that gives more information on what a subscriber can expect when they sign up. You could even provide a sample newsletter there. Make signing up attractive.

Be sure to send out your main newsletter on a regular schedule so that the client or potential client knows when it will arrive and sees that you are timely and reliable. A VA who sends out a sloppy or irregular newsletter doesn’t inspire much confidence in subscribers. If you do it weekly stick to the weekly schedule – if you do it bi- weekly or monthly stick with that schedule.

If you do choose a weekly mailing schedule, you might want to keep the newsletter short and to the point. Share package specials, task suggestions and testimonials. Don’t hesitate or feel like you’re bothering anyone. They opted in because their interested and even if they haven’t hired you yet you need to keep in touch with these people so they think of you when they do need to use a VA.

Use your newsletter to establish your expert status with your readers. Connect them with valuable resources and show them you are up to date with online business. You want to guide and teach your target market about using a virtual assistant and convince them that you have the skills and understanding that will benefit their business long term.

The Internet is filled to the brim with articles that talk about the best, the most useful, and of course the utterly creative home base business ideas possible. While each and everyone who is trying to succeed online will do well to read up on these items and follow sage advice as well as common sense, there are some ideas that may work for some people, but for others they will turn disastrous. In a very real way, they are the worst home base business idea anyone could have.

To ensure your success with your home base business idea and to help you discern whether it is a good idea or perhaps not such a good idea, here is a list of don’ts that you will do well to heed:

1. The worst home base business idea possible is to sell something or do something you neither enjoy nor believe in. For example, if you are considering the business of selling personal protection plans for the legal field, you need to believe in the product. If you think that it is an over prized service that most folks do not really need, you will be wasting your time and those of your clients – who, by the way, will be able to tell if you are just putting in your time in order to make a sale or if you passionately believe in the product. Similarly, if you hate sales calls, then this is decidedly the wrong home business to try out.

2. Any home base business idea is a bad idea if you lack the financing required to adequately get it off the ground and instead contemplate risky and potentially disastrous personal financial moves. Taking out a second mortgage on your home, dipping into your retirement savings, and maxing out your credit cards are examples of risky financial moves that will cause you years, or decades, of grief and the risk of failure far outweighs the chance of success. For every success story that talks about the down and out mom of five who used her last dime and kid’s college fund to get her now multi million dollar business off the ground, there are at least 100 such moms who will have lost that last dime and children’s college fund and have absolutely nothing to show for it.

3. If your latest home base business idea is little more than the flavor of the month and you have already tried out so many and wasted a lot of time and resources on succeeding with a home base business, you might find that until you are certain of what you really want to do, any idea will be bad. Fortunately, there is a plethora of personality tests online that you can take to find out what you would enjoy doing and what you are good at. Also, take the time to talk to your friends and family – the ones who know you best and will tell you the truth even if it hurts – to find out what they can see you do. You might be surprised!

Last but not least, any home base business idea that takes away the little time you have for your children, your family, your local faith community, and your enjoyment of life is one idea that is bad and should not be followed. Your children will be small only once; your family needs you now; your spirituality is more important than anything else, and your enjoyment of life dictates your wellbeing. Do not jeopardize any of them by following a fleeting notion of quick success only to turn around a few years later to realize that you missed out on a lot more than you can ever hope to gain back.

We’re all part of a very special group, us entrepreneurs. Yet, we don’t all enjoy the same level of success. Why is that? We’d like to believe that the rich and successful have secrets that they’re keeping from us, and if only we knew them, or fortunes would be transformed!

Well, there is no magic secret. Sorry. It all has to do with discipline and following a system. With that said, there are some very common mistakes that people make in the day to day functions of their business. These mistakes doom them to a life of mediocrity. They choke the life out of the efforts. Below are four of the most common:

Not Scheduling

The apparent freedom that comes with working from home can be a double edged sword, especially if you’re just breaking free from the shackles of the corporate world. Unfortunately, whether you’re working from someone else or working for yourself, you must have a schedule. Time is the scarcest of commodities, and you must treat it as such. It is the most valuable thing you’ll ever have to manage, it is priceless.

If you allow yourself to just ‘figure it out’ each day when you wake up, you’ll never get anything done. If you’re honest with yourself, you’ll realize this. With no scheduling and planning, you don’t know what you’re working towards and you don’t know what you’re accomplishing. Most likely, you’ll end up spending most of your time doing tasks that do nothing for the growth (money) of your business. Tasks such as filing, cleaning your workspace, bills, calling customer service for that issue that ‘has to be taken care of today’.

True, all these tasks are in some respect important. But they fall under the category of ‘Operations’. They do nothing for your bottom line, and therefore should be relegated to either someone else to do, or to a block of time where they are addressed together and quickly.

Pick a day during the week – I use Sunday evening – and every week sit down for 20 or 30 minutes and plan out that upcoming week. Based on the goals and stepping stones you have set for your business, what needs to be done this coming week to reach your 1 month goals, 3 month goal, 1 year goal? If you have this process in place, your business will run smoothly. Also take this opportunity to look at the week passed and to review it.

Not Prospecting

For most businesses, you have to prospect. Just because you’re now working at home does not mean that you do not have to associate with the outside world anymore! Quite the opposite – the very existence and success of your business depends on it!

I have my own preferred methods of prospecting, but I won’t get into that here. There are various methods to use: be it cold-calling, search engine marketing, email marketing, offline marketing, etc. You have to do your homework and pick a mix of marketing methods that will supply you with prospects. Then you have to prospect them.

You need to take the time to learn and refine your communication and prospecting skills. It is an art and skill to be able to prospect and close someone effectively. Learn this, or your business will suffer.

Momentum – Not Running Through the Finish Line

So you now have goals and schedule – great. But what do you do when you reach a goal, especially at the beginning stages of your business? You absolutely should celebrate your successes, no matter how small – but then get back to work!

Watch a race, any race. It could be swimming, running, motorcycles, or car racing. How do these people finish the race? Do they race to the finish line, or do they go full speed right through it?

Treat your business the same way. One mistake I see too many people do is celebrate and relax too much at every little sign of progress. Give yourself a pat on the back and a smile and keep going. Building momentum is so key to making things happen in business. Every time you stop, you kill any momentum you have built and you have to start over. Keep refining your goals and adding to them so there is always a next step. Don’t kill your momentum. Make sure you run through the finish line.

Marketing – Not Enough Of It!

Ah, the big one. Let’s put it very simply: If no one buys from you, you have no income. If no one knows your business exists, then no one can buy from you. If you do not market, then no one knows your business exists.

Therefore, if you do not market your business, you have no income.

Agreed?

If you don’t like marketing – start liking it. There are so many ways to do it, find a few that you enjoy and make it fun. The fact is, the majority of your time should be spent MARKETING. At least 60% of your time, if not 80% should be spent marketing.

Go through your typical day and think about what you spend time doing. How much do you spend marketing? If you’re like most people, you probably spend less then 20% of your time marketing. Therefore if you’re like most people, you’re not making any money with your business and like most people, your business will fail.

Get the word out! Find the people that already want what you have, and get in front of them. There is not a lack of ways to do this, so get out there and learn and MARKET.

Agreed? If you need ideas or you’re struggling with this, just get in touch with me and I’ll help you out – that’s not a problem. Just get out there and Market Your Business.
