Summertime is the most visited time of year, but you can visit at almost any time of year and have a great time.

Decide where you’d like to go on your trip and then start your research about those individual spots. Do you want a larger city like Torrevieja, Benidorm, or Alicante where you can have a great nightlife, attraction parks, and amazing historical sights or would you prefer a smaller town? Denia and Altea are two quiet places that offer relaxation and still have great weather for you to enjoy. Pick out what you would like to do on your vacation and you’ll have an even better time.

The most common way to get to Costa Blanca is to use the airport in Alicante. This is a big airport and you can choose from many different flights including some from major discount airliners. If you want to get the best deal for your money than you’ll need to book your tickets well in advance, this is especially true if you want to visit Costa Blanca during the summer.

If you do go with a low fair airline than you might give up some of the amenities that you look for in a regular rate airline. For instance you many not be offered snacks and you also may not be able to bring as many kilos in terms of baggage. Sometimes you can’t get the direct connections that you get from a more expensive airliner. Try flying in the off-season to save even more money.

Once you hit Costa Blanca you can decide on how you will handle land transportation in Spain. If you just want to stay in a confined area than you can probably depend on public transport to get you to and from the beach and around town. If you want to see more of the coast then try renting a car or using the local train and bus networks to get a better view of this region.

Of course renting a car will offer you the most flexibility in your travels. You can rent a car at the airport and return it at the airport when you go home. This is helpful because you can choose when you want to go and where without depending on anyone else’ schedule. You can also get the opportunity to explore some of the more remote regions when you have your own car.

Themed holiday vacations are a fun idea to plan for your family. One of our most memorable vacations was our “Cowboy and Indian” vacation. We took our sons through the West, stopping at tourist sites along the way. We stopped at Dodge City to explore the cowboy side of life, and then made our way to Southern Colorado to explore the ancient ruins of the cliff dwelling Pueblo Indians. It is hard to choose only four family fun options, but I chose those I thought my grandkids would enjoy the most.

Of course, the first one should be the Disney themed holiday vacation. Who can resist the thought of being in Florida during the cold days of winter and enjoying the sites and sounds of Disney World? This is a constant favorite of children and adults alike. There are so many attractions and sites; it will be hard to decide which one to visit first. You have the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Universal Studios, MGM studios and Disney even has its own cruise line. The cruise liner has all the Disney characters on board so it will be a themed vacation. Disney World is not the only attraction in the area; the Kennedy Space Center is nearby as is Sea World. Sea World is a wonderful attraction with special shows. Inside Disney World, you can stay in a hotel that has a monorail train to take you to all the attractions.

Are you thinking of a winter holiday vacation in sunny Southern California? You will find many attractions and they are easily worked in around your available time. The San Diego Zoo is a popular attraction with adults and children as well as Sea World. LegoLand is also found in the San Diego area and is a big hit with the little ones. If you’re looking for theme parks, go north just up the road to the Anaheim and Los Angeles area. There you will find Disneyland, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Studio, and California Adventure Theme Park. After taking in what sites and attractions you wanted to see, take a day or two to just relax and soak up the sun on the many beautiful beaches on the coast of Southern California. Drive a little further north up the coast and visit historic San Simeon and the beautiful city of Carmel. Take a tour around the area on the 17-mile drive in Monterey California and stop for a moment just to see the beauty of Pebble Beach Golf Course. There is something for everyone in the sunny state of California.

One of the best themed family vacations we had was our historical trip to the East Coast. We wanted our sons to be immersed in the colorful history of our Country. We had some fun times, stopping in Hershey Pennsylvania. We visited Hershey Town and stood amazed at the light poles in the shape of candy kisses. We visited historic sites in Virginia, visited George Washington’s home, and sat on the same veranda he sat on to watch the river go by. It was awesome, and in Virginia, southern hospitality shines through. It’s a pleasure to visit there. Then on to our most important goal, Washington D.C. We took the time to picnic on the mall, went up the Washington Monument, visited all the Presidential Memorials, and even took a tour of the White House. Being a history buff and patriotic, the highlight of my son’s trip was our visit to the sacred land of Arlington Cemetery. It is fitting that he grew up and is serving in the military. The Smithsonian is an experience that no one should miss. There are so many different buildings and sections in the buildings that it is hard to take it all in. We spent one whole day in just one building and then found out we had missed the hall of the First Ladies. This was something I was interested in, so we went back the next day and found the section that we missed before we went on to other areas. It’s a memorable family vacation and can instill in your child a real love and patriotism for their country.

National Parks and Monuments is another wonderful themed vacation the whole family will enjoy. Those “must see” attractions could include Yellowstone National Park to see Old Faithful go off, or a trip to the Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona. The Grand Canyon is a natural wonder that everyone should see at least once in his or her lifetime. Believe me, your children don’t have to teenagers to enjoy their themed vacations and have their memories to last for a lifetime.

Making travel plans can start the beginning of that vacation feeling. No matter what season of the year that it is, you can prepare holiday plans for you and your family, so that will have something to look forward to. Before you leave on your trip, however, you need to be sure that you pack carefully, so that you will have what you need on your travel tour.

The cruise ship will have almost anything that you need available for purchase, but it can cost you significantly more. That is why you want to make sure that you carefully pack and make your travel plan, so that you can save yourself money and hassle on items that you could have packed.

You may think that you only need to take your ticket, but there are other items that you will need. You need to take some type of identification, whether it is a driver’s license, passport, or state identification card. If you are leaving the country on a cruise, then a passport is necessary. You will also want to make sure that the country that you are visiting does not require a visa, because some countries require them in addition to your passport. The best way to learn about the necessary documents for the countries that you are visiting is to ask your cruise line representative or travel agent. Medical documents and immunization records could come in helpful, too.

Souvenirs are something that people enjoy purchasing as a memento of their trip. That is why you will want to take some money. On the cruise ship, you will not need money, but when you get off of the ship, you will need it for all of those extras. Your credit and debit card, along with some cash, can help you to purchase those little things that you want and need. Traveler’s checks are a good idea, too, because they can be easily replaced in most cases. By spreading your money out into several different kinds and separating it, you can help to make sure that you will have some money source even if you have some stolen.

If you forget something like a toothbrush, you can purchase a new one on board the ship, although it will cost you a little more. Things that you should not forget include your prescription medications, reading glasses, contact lenses, etc. These items will be difficult or impossible to replace on board the ship, so this is why you want to double-check your travel plan checklist to make sure that you do not forget this type of item. Other things that you may want to consider taking with you are medications for pain, colds, and seasickness. These items can be found on board, but they will be significantly more expensive.

If you want to take pictures, then you will want to pack your digital camera, as well as extra batteries and memory sticks. There will be a great deal of opportunity for pictures and this is why you want to be sure that you have the right tools in hand to do this. If you are going to need to use the phone, then you will want to make sure that you take prepaid phone cards, because it is expensive to make calls from the ship.

Leave room in your suitcase for souvenirs for yourself and for your friends. Once you have made your travel plan and packing checklist, you will be well on your way to the most relaxing and fun vacation that you have ever taken. Enjoy!
