A Budding Golfers Guide To A Good Pair Of Golf Shoes Adventure Trails In Northern Ontario A Look At The World Team Tennis Pro League A World Cup For A Non American Football Ladainian Tomlinson 2001 Draft Day Picks

Golf is a low impact sport that is normally for leisure. But playing the greens can be psychologically intensive as it can be physically demanding. Golf is normally played by professionals and executives to unwind and take time off from the hassle and bustle of the corporate world.

But for some who indulge in the sport, it can be an activity where they can make or break business deals.

Golf has been a man’s game, with all that metal involved. These are the equipments that can bring out the wolf amongst the sheep. It can be the determining factor on how serious of a golfer you are. Packing in iron and wood clubs that have titanium shafts really show that you’re in the game.

Budding golfers tend to focus more on the clubs, spending time researching and reading about it before they buy, but not really giving an equal amount of importance on golf shoes. Golf shoes are there not just for the looks of it, it also has its functions. The most sellable pair can be those worn by a sports celebrity endorser because golfers only took a couple of minutes to decide what to buy. A rather uncanny way of selecting something that could help you shave a few strokes off the game.

Playing golf for 3 to 5 hours a game, walking miles and miles of uneven terrain and exposing oneself to the blazing sun can be exhausting and painful to the feet. These factors can contribute to fatigue and may alter your swing form. It is advisable to wear golf shoes that have a half inch allowance on the toes so the foot won’t be cramped inside. Wearing a pair that has a bigger allowance can tip you off form since your feet are not thoroughly fastened. Normally good golf shoes are tight on the mid and rear foot section since this is where the balance comes from. Having worn the wrong type of shoes in playing golf can lead to injury since rubber shoes that are for running and cross training can be slippery on a wet turf and may cause the golfer to slip on the follow through. Some golf courses don’t allow these shoes for it can damage the green due to its spikes.

It is important to wear golf shoes that are soft so the feet won’t get swollen after playing the full 18 holes. Another thing to consider would be if the shoes are waterproof as golf is an outdoor sport and it might rain in the middle of the game. For beginners, it can be good to wear cleats with the shoes to provide more grip to the turf for that needed balance when swinging especially if the turf is wet. But cleats can destroy the greens and the fairways so the better the golfer gets the less likely he will need the cleats.

The 2005 season marked 30 years of play for the World Team Tennis (WTT) Pro League. With tennis news surrounding the most popular players in the sport, Pro Leaguers are always in high demand with the tennis news media.

The World Team Tennis Pro League is comprised of the Eastern and Western Conference, each of which consists of 6 teams for a total of 12 in competition. It’s regular season annually occurs during three weeks in the summer. The two best teams, one from each conference, will advance to the World Team Tennis Finals.

Each team consists of two mean, two women and one coach. Team competitions feature a total of five events, including one set of men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. The first team to reach five games wins each set. If a set reaches all four, a nin-point tiebreaker is played.

With competitions regularly televised on national tennis news programs, including ESPN2, World Team Tennis is very popular among sports enthusiasts and tennis news in general. The concept was developed in the early 1970s by Larry and Billie Jean King with the WTT Pro League first competing in 1974 with a 5-year contract. After a brief hiatus, the Pro League resumed in 1981 and has been a highlight in tennis news for the 25 years that followed. In 2006, the WTT Pro League will celebrate their 31st season of play.

Since it’s debut, some of the greatest names in tennis news have competed in the league, including Andre Agassi, Any Roddick, Anna Kournikova, Venus & Serena Williams, Monica Seles, John McEnroe, Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova and many others. As it’s popularity grew, and tennis news coverage increased, the World Team Tennis organization welcomed over 150,000 fans in annual attendance. There is a good reason behind the fan craze and that is because WTT is all about the fans and serves up each experience with a side of excitement. Many of the rules governing the World Team Tennis association are designed in order to make the game a fan-friendly sport, which seems to be working with attendance steadily rising each year.

During each WTT event, fans are encouraged to participate by being vocal about a great play. In addition, they are free to enter and exit the stadium during the competition. But, for those who stay, music is often played between games in order to keep the crowd excitement intact. World Team Tennis is regularly covered on tennis news programs, in tennis news publications and on the internet.

Which is the greatest team sports’ event? For most US Americans the “Super Bowll” would be an easy answer. Others, mostly attracted by baseball, basketball, or hockey, would choose one of those sports’ finals or all-star games, but this is not the case for the rest of the world. Outside of the US when people say football they refer to the sport that is known as soccer in United States and which is by far the most popular sport in all of the five continents. The World Cup that takes place over a four-year period is considered as the most important athletic competition, being more widely-viewed on TV exceeding even the Olympic Games. In 2002, when North Korea and Japan co-hosted the World Cup the cumulative TV audience was estimated to be 28.8 billion, while 1.1 billion individuals watched the final match of the tournament between Brazil and Germany.

This year the World Cup takes place in Germany with the first mach between Germany and Costa Rica being scheduled on 9th of June and the last one, the final game which is going to take place one month later on the 9th of July in Berlin. Thirty-two national teams are participating in this great “party” of world soccer and they will play in a total of twelve German cities. Among the national teams, which participate 14 come from Europe, 5 from Africa, 4 from South America, 4 from Asia, 4 from North and Central America and 1 from Oceania.

Brazil is the defending Word Champion and one of the great favorites of wining the trophy this year. The Brazilians have already won the World Cup five times and are the most successful team in the competition’s history. This year, legendary coach Pareira has at his disposal some of the most talented football players of the world: Kaka, Adriano, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo and of course Ronaldinho the World Player of the Year for the last two years.

As strong contenders for the title are considered, by soccer experts and bookmakers, the team of Germany, which will play in front of its audience as the host-nation, and that of England, Argentina and Italy. In addition, the Brazilians, the French striker Thierry Henry, the Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko, the English midfielder Frank Lampard, the German midfielder Michael Ballack and the new star of the Argentinean football Lionel Messi are players one will enjoy watching.

The United States’ national team is assigned in the Group E and will face Italy, Ghana and the Czech Republic in the first stage of the tournament, giving its first game in Gelsenkirchen on the 12th of June against the Czechs. Coach Bruce Arena has his team believing that their mix of young talents such as DaMarcus Beasley and Landon Donovan and old campaigners like Claudio Reyna and Brian McBride could be enough to go further than the quarter-finals where they reached in 2002.

There are many assumptions about soccer’s low popularity in the United States, but the most convincing one seem to be the fact that the American national team didn’t have any serious accomplishments during the last years in order to attract their country’s attention and interest. The boys of Bruce Arena will have their opportunity now inside the German stadiums.

LaDainian Tomlinson was born on June 13, 1979 in Rosebud, Texas. It was apparent early on in life that Tomlinson, or LT as he is called now, was going to be a great athlete. Not only did he always have the size and athleticism to compete at a high level, but he also exhibited a high level of knowledge of the game as well. With all of this put together, it was only a matter of time until Tomlinson began to show the world what he was made of.

Tomlinson played high school sports at University High School. Not only was he a standout player on the football field, but he also played baseball and basketball as well. During his senior season in high school he rushed for more than 2,500 yards and 39 touchdowns. This led to several awards including second team all state, and the districts most valuable player.

Although Tomlinson put up big numbers in high school, he was overlooked by quite a few schools. This led him to Texas Christian University where he would soon blossom into one of the best running backs in the entire country. While he split time in the backfield during his first two seasons, as a junior he broke out. During this season he scored 18 touchdowns, rushed for 1,850 yards, and put up 406 rushing yards in a single game. Tomlinson did more of the same his senior season by rushing for 22 touchdowns and more than 2,100 yards.

With the 5th pick of the 2001 NFL Draft the San Diego Chargers selected Tomlinson. He got off to a quick start during his rookie season by rushing for 1,236 yards and 10 touchdowns. Each year since, Tomlinson has rushed for more than 1,300 yards and scored more than 13 touchdowns. His best season yet came in 2006 when he finished with more than 1,800 yards and 31 touchdowns.
